Our First Booking of The Year
Last weekend’s hen party was the first to experience our newly built ‘log cabin’, which is a great addition to our already established set-up. Despite the awful, inclement weather conditions we experienced, things couldn’t have gone any smoother.
I employed my good friend Jules to help with the work load, and she was an instant hit with the hens. Despite the almost incessant rain and wind, Lou and her posse timed to perfection their arrival, during the only hour of unbroken sunshine!
Once settled in, we served lunch: char-grilled chicken breast, peppers and rocket in baguettes, all garnished with home made lemon mayonnaise. Lunch was followed by the first entertainment: a two hour Bollywood dance class with Gita. The party proved be natural movers – this can be seen on our Facebook page.
We even managed to squeeze in a life drawing class [where Emma (Lou’s sister), an artist in her own right, helped others to hone their drawing skills] before supper was served; butternut squash and coconut curry, followed by Amaretto chocolate mousse.
Jules and I then left the party to their own devices, a mixture of dancing and cocktails. I returned the next morning to find the happy crew cooking their own breakfast and inhaling the last of the crisp country air before their trips back to the old smoke!!
